The Evening Light Gospel Tabernacle has been located at 200 20th St S.E., in Cleveland, Tn., since 1946, serving the community as a light of hope and love, and drawing the lost to Christ. The church has always been an interdenominational church, never taking such names as “Baptist,” “Church of God,” “Methodist,” “Presbyterian,” etc. In other words, instead of answering to a “big box name church,” we answer to God and His word, the Holy Bible. In 1946, the church started out as a small country church located on a dirt road on the outskirts of Cleveland. While the city of Cleveland has grown greatly, leaving the church in the middle of Southeast Cleveland, our small country church demeanor has stayed the same where everyone is welcome and treated with love, “just like family,” our members and guests often say.
